Spring/Summer 17

The 2017 Spring-Summer collection was inspired by the end of the 1960s in Paris. Rebellious, inspired, arty, it takes to the streets like French women did in 1968.

Here are some of our favourite models.

MALAGA: in store since beginning of February

The Malaga is a knee-high boot in a stretch material with a 4cm heel and a white patent straight toe-end. This boot, both retro and futuristic, is declined in black and blue. You will also find it as an ankle boot (Estime), in blue and black as well.

: available in April

Slightly pointed, between the Concorde and a Boeing, the Houpette flat has the peculiar charm of its straight toe-cap – be it tone-on-tone, two-material or two-tone. Emma Roberts wears them in Los Angeles with raw skinny jeans and a classy white blouse knotted around the waist.

PETRA: available in February

The Petra was inspired by one of our hit models from FW2016, the Odessa boot. Its tasseled lace attached around the ankle and its singular heel had already conquered us last winter, and come back for the summer in a camel suede.

PAPILLON: available in April

A new one at Carel, the Papillon or Butterfly stole its iconic grosgrain bow from the famous Marquis slipper. The slight heel of this fabric shoe will swing all summer long on the Parisian pavement or in the streets of Saint-Tropez.

PRUNE: available in April

The Prune is a summery slipper which just got back from a long, long trip: its fouta fabric, coming straight from Tunisia, went to our Italian workshops to become a leather-lined slipper in the magical hands of our traditional shoemakers. Available in blue or pink.

KINA: available in February

The Kinas have become one of Carel’s iconic models in a few seasons only. These three-strap mary-janes are a hit in all the most innovative concept stores of the US and Japan, and goes out for this season in unique colours, from beige suede to metallic pale green. Hurry up, limited stock…

Le 2100: available around March / April

The 2100 is the mocassin by Carel. French aristocrats – and not only them  have been buying it for three generations: women love the slim line of it, its simplicity, its comfort and the new shades which come out every season.

LEIA: available in April

The Leia is one of those sandals that you put on without thinking and that you wear all summer long until you destroy them, be it in a camel suede for a walk downtown or in pop colours for a day at the beach.

PALOMA: custom-made only

The Paloma is a clog with a semi-wedge. It plays with retro colours and contemporary leathers: multicoloured python-printed leather may be mixed with yellow patent for a dazzling and colourful look, beige and camel tones may give it more of a “BCBG” chic look. Available in the colours of your choice, on demand.

JAVA: available in April

The Java is the same as the Houpette, but with a slight heel (35mm). This summer, it’s declined in more muted colours than her little sister, and in soft materials, but it has the same retro charm.
